Throughout July, Jasmine will be taking part in Walk for Endo 2026, raising money for Endometriosis UK while helping shine a light on a condition that affects around 1 in 10 women.
As many of our patients know, she enjoys a challenge. This time, however, the challenge isn’t just about fitness; it’s about awareness.
Why 9?
One of the most shocking statistics about endometriosis is that it currently takes an average of more than 9 years to receive a diagnosis in the UK.
Nine years.
Nine years of symptoms.
Nine years of uncertainty.
Nine years of appointments, referrals, investigations, and often being told that what you’re experiencing is “normal.”
No one should have to wait that long for answers.
That’s why Endometriosis UK’s Walk for Endo challenge asks supporters to complete 9,000 steps a day throughout July, helping raise both awareness and vital funds for those living with the condition.
Taking the Challenge a Step Further

Of course, simply hitting 9,000 steps a day didn’t quite feel enough for me…
So throughout July, Jasmine shall be embracing the theme of “9” wherever she can.
Alongside my daily step target, there will be a series of additional challenges, including:
- Daily 9,000+ step targets
- 9km runs
- 9-mile walks
- And a few other “rule of nine” challenges along the way
Some days will be easier than others, especially while balancing work, clinic life, and everything else that comes with running a busy practice. But that’s all part of the challenge.
Why Endometriosis Matters
Despite affecting around 1 in 10 females, endometriosis remains one of the most misunderstood and under-recognised conditions in healthcare.
Symptoms can include:
- Severe period pain
- Chronic pelvic pain
- Fatigue
- Fertility challenges
- And a huge impact on everyday quality of life
For many people, symptoms begin during their teenage years but can take years to be taken seriously or properly investigated.
The funds raised help Endometriosis UK continue providing support services, reliable information, awareness campaigns, and advocacy for those affected by the condition.
How You Can Help
We will be sharing updates throughout July, including the challenges, the miles covered, and probably a few sore legs along the way.
Together, we can help raise awareness, support those living with endometriosis, and hopefully contribute towards a future where nobody has to wait nine years for answers.
Thank you for your support.
