The Gait Lab Opens at Colne Valley Chiropody & Podiatry

We’re proud to share some exciting news — The Gait Lab is now open at Colne Valley Chiropody & Podiatry.

This is something we’ve been working towards for some time, and it marks an important next step for our clinic. The Gait Lab has been created to offer patients a dedicated space for biomechanical assessments, foot and ankle pain appointments, and lower limb treatment, using specialist equipment and a more in-depth approach to care.

While there are still a few finishing touches to complete the space, we were delighted to welcome our first patient on 27th April, making it a proud moment for the whole team.

The Gait Lab is a specialist assessment and treatment space designed to help people with pain, injuries or movement problems affecting the feet, ankles and lower limbs.

Using advanced equipment from Podiatech, our podiatrists can assess how your feet and legs move, how you load through them, and whether there are patterns contributing to pain or recurring problems.

This allows us to create a clear, personalised treatment plan that focuses not just on symptoms, but on the cause of the issue too.

The Gait Lab may help if you’re dealing with:

  • Heel pain or plantar fasciitis
  • Achilles pain
  • Foot or arch pain
  • Ankle weakness or repeated sprains
  • Shin splints
  • Knee pain linked to foot mechanics
  • Hip or lower back discomfort
  • Running injuries
  • Ongoing pain when standing or walking
  • Recurring injuries that never seem to fully settle

Whether you’re active, on your feet all day for work, or simply want to stay comfortable and mobile, these assessments can be valuable.

Clinic owner Matt Butters said:

“We’re incredibly excited to open The Gait Lab. It’s something we’ve wanted to develop for a long time, and it’s a real investment in the future of the clinic. It gives our team the space, equipment and opportunity to keep growing our biomechanics service and offer even more to our patients.”

The opening of The Gait Lab is not just about equipment and facilities, it’s also about continuing to develop the skills of our clinicians.

Tom at Sidas commented:

“It’s been great to support the team over the years through CPD and training. They’ve always shown a real commitment to improving patient care and developing their knowledge. The Gait Lab is a fantastic next step for them.”

For our existing patients, The Gait Lab means even more options for specialist care close to home.

For new patients, it means access to detailed assessments and modern treatment options delivered by a friendly, experienced team.

Most of all, it’s something we’re genuinely excited about, and we look forward to welcoming many more people through the doors in the months ahead.
